Dubai is a golfer and golf-lover's paradise. Golf in the desert on championship standard grass courses. Choose from the Emirates Golf Club, Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht club and the Dubai Golf and Racing Club. As an all-year-round golfing destination, Dubai has the singular honor of being the only golfing centre in the world to host major international tournaments on both the European and Asian PGA circuits. Visiting golfers are offered courses of championship quality, each presenting a different type of challenge.

On the fringe of the city, the Emirates Golf Club was the Middle East's first championship grass course. It was also the venue for The Dubai Desert Classic 2001. Those after a different golfing experience may like to try a game on sand at the Dubai Country Club, the oldest course in the emirates, and featuring "browns", instead of "greens".Adding a twist to the great game, golfers carry a small piece of artificial turf with them, using it to play off.

Visitors who don't wish to stray too far from the city centre may also like to sample the Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club. Opened in January 1993, Dubai's second world class golf course is the centrepiece of an 80-hectare sports and leisure complex that also incorporates a 115-berth marina.
