Parks in Dubai

Make the most of Dubai's year-long sunshine at the grassy Dubai Beach Park adjoining Jumeirah Beach. With walkways, kiosks, barbeques, picnic tables and children's play area, it's the perfect place to spend the day when desert safaris, the water park and sumptuous meals have depleted the energy reserves.

The long stretch of adjoining beach is clean, has showers and a changing area and is sheltered by leafy palm trees and regularly patrolled by lifeguards. Ladies who want to tan in peace should take note of when the regular 'women only' days occur. The more energetic types can make use of the volleyball area. The Creekside Park, on the Bur Dubai side of the Creek sports some most exotic garden features in the East. This park has an exhaustive list of amenities including a children's play area, walking and jogging tracks, amphitheater seating, mini- golf, fishing jetties, exit points for abras, restaurants and kiosks.

A master-piece in planning, this is all situated in 96 hectares of gardens. The gardens support many rare and interesting botanical features, a key feature being the desert garden with a traditional irrigation system. Traveling a little further afield, the Mushrif Park lies in a sheltered dip among rolling sand desert near Dubai. A natural 'ghaf' forest, it has been developed for visitors and has its own roads and leisure facilities. Swimming pools, fountains, lakes, play areas, camels and pony rides and trains can all be found there.
