Pubs and Clubs in Dubai

Dubai after dark is a vibrant place – with the exception of Mondays which tend to be rather quiet. A few points useful to note are that most of the bars which serve alcohol are located in hotels, although there are a few exceptions. Dubai laws regarding clubs are similar to those found in the United States - clubs must all close at 3am, you must be 21 to drink alcohol, 25 to enter a nightclub. Despite these seemingly stringent laws, Dubai clubs are not permitted by law to refuse entrance to anyone – this includes the member's only clubs (although these types of clubs often will charge a high fee to enter).

So the holiday-maker can rest assured that he or she will not be forcibly ejected for the wearing of trainers. Thanks to these 'easy entrance' rules, most Dubai clubs feature a good mixture of clientele. The clubs and bars also attract big name international DJ's and performers, drawn in by Dubai's reputation for enjoying a good party. For a night out to remember, be sure to visit Carter's bar inside the amazing Pyramid Complex. Carter's opens as a restaurant at 12pm, and is still buzzing until 2 or 3am depending on the night.

It is also the only 'Oxygen bar' in Dubai, where patrons eager for a legal high can enjoy a 20 minute shot of pure oxygen. Those who wish to find a number of bars in the one area should head straight to the beautiful Century Village, next to the Irish Village. The Da Gama bar/restaurant in Century Village is regarded as one of Dubai's most stylish bars and also serves sumptuous Portuguese cuisine.
